When You Compare Mortgages: Keep These Points In Mind

When You Compare Mortgages: Keep These Points In Mind

I was checking out some really cool printed tins when a friend of mine called me to ask if I knew about mortgages. I advised him that he should do some comparison and gave him a bit of advice as to what to look for when doing the comparison.

Buying a home is a major life decision, and how to finance it is one, too. Selecting the right mortgage is essential. To do so, you need to know what your financial goals and priorities are, and take a realistic look at them.

When comparing mortgages, one thing to look out for is the type of loan lenders are offering. Loans can be fixed rate or adjustable, and recently, new evolutions and mutations have surfaced. Read all the fine print, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Of course, the mortgage rate is an important aspect to compare. Don’t go automatically for the lowest one. Read the description carefully to ensure you are getting what you want and to deter any nasty surprises in the future.

Fees are another element to compare and review. Mortgage fees vary among lenders. Some fees are non-negotiable. You should know that you will be expected to pay them, as it is all a part of doing business. However, fees can be quite substantial, and the range among lenders is wide enough that fees can be a deciding factor. Keep in mind that some fees can be negotiated, like appraisal, title search and attorney fees. As with interest rates, don’t just go with the lender with the lowest fees.

You should review every element carefully, and decide on the right combination that is best for you.

The Red Worm

The Red Worm

It was amazing to see the little red worm in the hand of the youngest bridesmaid in the official wedding photographs. I have to hand it to Harry, he is a great step uncle. I absolutely love people who have little treats in their pockets to hand to children when they are getting stressed out. It is particularly beautiful when the person is not even a parent themselves. I was in the waiting room of my friends botox office when I saw this woman struggling really hard with a boisterous three year old and a new born baby. As it transpired the baby was just a few days old and the three year old was climbing on the new mother’s very sore stomach. This other woman pulled out a set of markets and paper and began drawing pictures of dogs and bunnies for the little boy. I was completely inspired and have gotten a set of little wooden toys including a train, yo yo and whistle. My first outing with my little set of toys and I began a rendition of ’The Wheels on the Bus'for a screaming two year old on the packed number eleven. The child started singing along, and then the whole bus joined in. It is so much better than watching the poor mother struggle alone on crowded public transportation while everybody around her either tuts or silently wishes the child would be quiet and behave. It was a great inspiration that little red worm.

How to Deal With Panic Attacks

I was asked by a friend of mine whilst we were shopping for chess sets if I ever suffered a panic attack. When I told him no he revealed to me that he has had a few episodes over the last three months. I was curious as to how a panic attack can be treated with any medications. Here’s what I discovered.

A panic attack is a brief and sudden feeling of intense fear. Aside from the mental feeling of fear, physical feelings, including quickened heart rate, chest pain, sweating, trembling, dizziness, nausea, and difficulty breathing may accompany a panic attack.

Deep breathing can help you to down and relax, stemming anxiety and any pending panic attacks. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Think about each inhalation and exhalation. This focus will occupy your thoughts so you are not overwhelmed by thoughts that can cause anxiety.

Recognizing what triggers your attacks are important in preventing panic attacks. Talk to someone about your attacks and pinpoint what triggers them. A trained professional, such as a therapist, would be ideal, but even talking to a close friend or family member about your attacks can be helpful. Most triggers can be avoided or overcome through therapy. At the very least, you will know what causes the attacks, and can avoid circumstances that will trigger them.

If you feel an attack coming on, it is important to not let the thoughts of fear paralyze you. Direct your thoughts to something positive, thinking about a happy, safe moment. Recite an inspiring poem or quote to help you stay positive and stem the fear.

Long-exposure photography – the perfect hobby for the photo enthusiast

Long-exposure photography is a popular technique for many amateur and professional photographers. It involves holding down the camera’s shutter button for a selected period of time. This could range from anywhere between 1/20 of a second to half an hour or longer. It can be used for a wide variety of situations and here are some examples.

Water is the most popular subject for this style of photography. This could include subjects like waterfalls, beach settings, rivers/streams or fountains. Typically, in order to achieve a quality ‘blur’ in a waterfall setting, a shutter speed of between 1/8 of a second and 2 seconds can create an excellent effect. A faster shutter speed may be preferred, however, this will capture more detail in the water, which may not be what the photographer is intending.

Likewise, a slower shutter may lose all of the detail and the water could appeal like white foam. Waterfall photography can be challenging, particularly as rocky riversides and cliff setting is less than ideal for tripods. A beach setting may be easier because a smooth, sandy surfaces acts as an ideal base for a sturdy tripod. To achieve a beautiful blur impression of the sea, it is better to find a location with large waves and other features, such as cliffs and rocks. Sunrise or sunsets are the best times for this type of photographer. Indeed, some photographers may even spend the night on the beach staying in a caravan with Caravan insurance in order to be at the right place when the sun rises. The limited light during this time allows for a slower shutter speed, without the problems of overexposure.

In pursuit of …..

In pursuit of .....

For most people, if I ask them to fill in the remaining part they’d put in money, or a car or a name of any actress/actor, or fame or things like that. A very small percentage will say love, happiness, dreams, etc. If you ask a big bunch of people these questions in a shopping mall crowded with people, they’d give you all the goodie answers you want to hear. If you ask them to write it down in privacy, you’d see the difference in their wants.
Most of us have been pulled into the plastic world, sadly, and most of us like it. Facebook and BBM, I’m not going to say mobile phones are bad, but they way they are used is unbelievable. You can catch you kids yapping on their phones for hours together. If you don’t, then its the phone bill that reveals that for you. Once a better phone comes out, they the want the better one, once the newer laptop comes on the shelves, they want the newer laptop. For a lot of people, more specifically city boys and girls, happiness for them is short lived depending on the latest of whatever they have. Heck some girls brag about he laser hair removal bournemouth to sussex. How boring.
All these devices are great but depending on them for every goddamn thing is ridiculous. Calculations all done by calculators, ask your kid they 7 or 8 times table and would fumble. They lack the confidence to speak in public cause they only way they speak in sentences is through facebook of BBM. How are they going to get a job in tough times like these when competition is very high. If your not confident and not sure what you want to do, facebook isn’t going to help at all!

No New Year’s Resolutions? Then You Are A Loser: right?

No New Year’s Resolutions? Then You Are A Loser: right?

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No not Christmas, New Year’s Resolutions. What do you mean you are not making a resolution this year? Everyone makes a resolution at the beginning of the year such as using Enigin services. Only losers choose not to make a New Year’s Resolution. Well fear not because you are not alone. A lot of people decide every year to bypass the tradition of New Year’s resolutions. Why? Most people cannot or choose not to keep them.

Instead of following the crowd down the rabbit hole, take a couple of days at the beginning of the year to think about what you want to accomplish over the course of the year. This is more of a goal-oriented task instead of a flippant decision to do or not do something. Here are a couple of ideas to focus on.

Finances

Where do you want your finances to be at the end of the year? Are they in a good place now? If so, how can you make them better? If you have bills you want to pay off, what is the plan to pay those down until complete?

Career

Are you happy in your current situation? If so, what can you do to stay content in your position? If not, what moves can you make to better position yourself? If you want a promotion, what things can you do at work to make yourself more visible?

Family

Are you spending enough time with your family? How can make room to spend more time with them? If you have children, how can you become more involved in their lives or extra-curricular activities?

Social Life

Are you working too much? Do you need to spend more time with your friends? Do you need to spend more time with people instead of your desk or animals?

How to Choose a Hobby

How to Choose a Hobby

Everyone should have at least one hobby where they take time out of their busy schedule to engage in something they truly enjoy doing such as cooking Greek recipes. A hobby can help you meet new people who share similar interests, reduce stress and give a person time to themselves doing something they love. Selecting a hobby can be quite an easy and rewarding experience. But how should you choose a hobby?

The first step is to take ask yourself a few question. Most important is to ask yourself what your skills are and what you really enjoy doing. You do not have to have expert talent in a certain field to make it your hobby because you will learn as you build your hobby. Once you have considered your skills and likes, you need to ask yourself how much time and money do you have to spend on your hobby. You should also ask yourself if you would like a hobby that has a social atmosphere and has you around lots of other people or if you like a solitary hobby that you would do by yourself.

After you have answered these questions, you can start looking for a hobby that suits you. The internet is a great place to start because it can offer you a wide range of information. Once you have narrowed your search down, look for clubs to joins, websites to register with and organization to work with. Take your time exploring your hobby and be sure you are enjoying yourself as much as you had hoped. For example, if you choose horse riding as your hobby then go to a local riding stable and sign up for some training classes. Do not just go out and buy a horse and hope for the best. If you find that you are not enjoying your hobby as much as you had hoped than just select another one. Most people go through many hobbies throughout their lifetime; this is how we experience new things.

Why Cities Should Become Bike Friendly

Why Cities Should Become Bike Friendly

Cities benefit hugely when they begin to make the investment in cycle ways, paths, and general infrastructure improvements that make it easier for cyclists to get around and to encourage people who previously didn’t cycle much to switch from car to bike. The best benefit for cities that switch to bikes is that they will find that congestion will gradually decrease. Make the bike lanes good enough, and spread through the city as widely as is possible and you’ll find that people will often rather take a bike to work than drive. You’ll also drive down the use of public transport in rush hour and reduce the expense of maintaining that system.
A bike friendly city is also a healthy city. First of all you’ll have less pollution from cars. Bikes simply do not pollute, and if anything they encourage other road users like cars and trucks to slow down, causing them to use less fuel and consider if the journey was really worth it, after having been so delayed by the number of bikes. Of course there is the more obvious benefit when a city decides that it want its citizens to take to bikes — they become more healthy themselves.
Citizens who ride bikes will get exercise every single time they make a journey. There are even bike couriers who dart through the streets and are constantly exercising — you’ll never see a fat bike courier! It’s a dangerous job though and courier insurance will be required in case the user gets hurt. A bike friendly city is also a nicer city that will be much more likely to attract visitors. Food trucks will quickly start researching cheap catering van insurance in order to try to attract some of the passing trade. It’s something that’s already very common in San Francisco and New York, and will only spread as cyclist numbers increase.

Like ANA, say YAY!

What a happy site! I want to trust happiness and say “YAY” like ANA. Even when life seems really tough there’s always something to be grateful for, if you look hard enough with a positive attitude. Perhaps there’s even a silver lining hiding somewhere to be presented later.

A short while ago I flew into London Heathrow airport and my British boyfriend said he’d pick me up with his brother’s car. I fly four times yearly because I get homesick being a foreign student even though I can barely afford the expense.

When I fly back into London Heathrow airport I usually proceed in carrying my luggage through the London Underground and after a 13 hour flight I’m barely poised for this part of the journey back to my flat, so meeting my boyfriend at the airport was to be such a luxury and a heroic event, so I thought.

I arrived into Heathrow airport but my boyfriend was not there. I grew concerned because my flight had been delayed, but soon my boyfriend called with news that instead of parking in the Heathrow Parking lot he left his brother’s car briefly outside on the airport curb to see if my flight had arrived. In the meantime the car was towed away and fined by authorities. He had to leave the car in the penalty lot because he didn’t have his driver’s license and no proof of the car’s ownership and anyhow since it was his brother’s car I doubt a license would have helped matters.

We eventually met up and decided to travel to my flat on the London Underground. My boyfriend helped me carry luggage, except when boarding the train we had to run as it began to leave. As I got on the train the doors closed on my arm, which half stuck outside with my hand holding onto a piece of luggage. The train conductor didn’t open the doors right away so I was stuck in what seemed like a long time with my arm and luggage dangling outside the train. I could see passenger in the opposite side of the tracks pointing and laughing while people in our train looked horrified. The doors finally opened and finally getting my luggage inside the train, I simply cracked up laughing and my boyfriend joined in, it seemed so ridiculous. A day later we got his brother’s car released from the penalty lot and paid huge fines.

Now I didn’t know what to think of this incident. Is my boyfriend not very bright? Should I be concerned that there’s a lesson for me to learn here? I don’t believe he’ll make a similar mistake again. He’s clever in other situations and seemed so sweet to barrow his brother car and offer to take me home from the airport, though it was rather like a ‘Pink Panther’ feat. Well, I think I will simply follow my heart as I love him and like ANA, I say YAY!
